Sam Chambers of Splash247 reports that Mexico’s Manzanillo port is set for a massive transformation in a bid to become Latin America’s largest port. He writes:
Mexico’s port of Manzanillo will go through a massive $3.15bn expansion through to 2030, making it the largest port in Latin America, nearly tripling container capacity to 10m teu.

“In a purely hypothetical scenario, if this growth rate continues, by the year 2031 there will be more containers imported from China into Mexico than the US west coast,” Xeneta’s research head Peter Sand said earlier this year.
