When we enter the real world after school, it can be jarring, which is why Your Survival Guy put it off for several months after Babson. And why not? Work could wait.
But at some point, it’s time to get to work and start making some money to save for retirement. And then, when you get to retirement, you wonder: Do I have enough money? And you thought life was supposed to get easier.
Your Survival Guy is a huge fan of getting in on the real estate ownership game at a young age. Yes, single-family starter homes are extraordinarily expensive, which is why I started with a multifamily. That was over 30 years ago, and I have no regrets about getting into real estate. Not for a minute.
When you get into your retirement, I want you to have the one you’ve dreamed about. I would like you to try to be debt-free, to own your home. Believe me, the peace of mind of paying off your mortgage is good.
Yes, you can carry a mortgage or hold onto a low fixed rate for years to come, but at the end of the day, this isn’t about interest rates. It’s about being an owner. I want that for you.
Action Line: There isn’t a lot of time between school and work to focus on my favorite three letters in investing: Y-O-U. You deserve to be guided by white glove service. I’m here if you need me.
